Repeated discharge of a new battery calls for a charging-system check. Generator output, regulator/rectifier behaviour and connection losses are considered together.
What is reviewed?
- Observe charging output across relevant engine speed
- Inspect regulator/rectifier connections
- Look for heat damage or oxidation at connectors
- Check chassis ground and main power connections
- Interpret battery and charging-system results together
