Compression and Internal Leakage Assessment
A compression test alone does not describe the entire engine. Test conditions, engine temperature, throttle position and model-specific service values matter.
What is reviewed?
- Assess whether the symptom is likely mechanical
- Determine whether compression testing is justified
- Plan leak-down testing where appropriate
- Differentiate valve, ring and sealing possibilities
- Compare results with model-specific information
